Accessibility

How this website is built, what we have checked, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

Last updated 12 October 2026.

What we have done

  • The site is built from ordinary HTML, so it works with the keyboard alone and with a screen reader.
  • Every page has one main heading and a heading structure you can navigate by.
  • There is a skip link to the main content, and a visible focus outline on everything you can reach with the keyboard.
  • Text and background colours are chosen to keep contrast comfortably readable.
  • Text resizes without the layout breaking, and the site works on a narrow screen.
  • Nothing moves, flashes or plays on its own, and animations respect a reduced-motion preference.
  • Forms have real labels, and errors are described in words rather than by colour alone.
  • No content depends on JavaScript. The navigation menu improves with it and still works without it.

What we know is not perfect

The wide tables on the status page scroll sideways on a small screen. We have not had the site tested by a third party against WCAG, so we are describing what we built rather than claiming a rating.

Tell us
