A limited offer, and what it holds

The prices above are a limited offer. They are what a new licence costs until 31 March 2027.

A licence started before that date is held at them for two years from the day it starts, whatever the published price does in between. Not two years from the closing date: from yours, so somebody who signs on the last day gets what somebody who signed on the first day got.

After 31 March 2027 the price for a new licence is reviewed, and it may be higher. Nothing on this page says that it will be, because we do not know yet, and a date invented to hurry you would not be worth the words around it.

What the licence covers

The whole application, not a tier of it

There is no cut-down edition and there is nothing charged on top. A business on the ordinary licence gets the same ledger, the same VAT and CIS treatment, the same statutory accounts and the same forty-nine reports as anybody else, and Projects and Multi-currency are in the price with everything else.

Every module, mapped

The agreement behind the price is published in full: the software licence.

Murgese
Murgese, demo data. The company and the figures are invented.

How a practice is priced

Why there is no number in that box

Not because we are working it out. A firm of eighteen clients and a firm of four hundred are not the same purchase, and a single published figure would be wrong for both of them.

One licence for the firm

Unlimited users. Nobody is rationed out of the deadlines calendar to save a seat, which is what per-user pricing ends up doing to a small practice.

Then by the client companies it covers

The firm's licence covers its own books and the client companies it puts on Murgese. What that costs depends on how many, and it is set out in writing when you apply rather than left for you to work out from a table.

Invoiced monthly, and by the day

One invoice a month to the firm. A change part way through a month is apportioned by the days either side of it rather than rounded up to a whole one.

Agreed in writing before anything starts

Tell us roughly how many clients you look after and we will send the rate and the terms in an email you can keep and compare. No call required, and no obligation attached to asking.

What to send us. Your firm name, roughly how many client companies you look after, and what you use now. That is enough for a written quote. If you would rather see the software first, ask for the installer and come back to the price afterwards.

How licensing works

Plainly stated

  • Per businessA licence covers one business on the machines it uses, rather than counting seats.
  • It works offlineMurgese does not need an internet connection to let you work, and nothing about your books leaves the machine to keep it running.
  • A free monthEvery new licence starts with a free month, so the first quarter's work is done before anything is paid.
  • PaymentCollected by Direct Debit through GoCardless where you buy direct.
  • If a licence lapsesThe software becomes read only after a grace period. It does not lock you out of your own books, and the export still works.
  • Nothing charged on topProjects and Multi-currency are in the price of the licence rather than charged separately. Nothing described on this site costs extra.
  • Two ways inBuy direct and run it yourself, or take it from the accountancy firm that looks after you. The software is identical.

Questions about price

Is there anything else to pay?

No. Everything described on this site is in the price of the licence, including the VAT and CIS work, the year-end accounts, the corporation tax computation, Projects and Multi-currency. Bank feeds are not switched on yet: the status page says where they stand. If they become a chargeable service, we will say so on this page before they do, not in an invoice.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a grace period the software becomes read only. You keep the database, the backups and the portable export. Nothing is withheld to make leaving harder.

My accountant wants to supply it. What do I pay?

Whatever your accountant agrees with you. Where a firm supplies the licence, you are their customer and they set the arrangement.

Can I move from a firm's licence to my own?

Yes. The books stay on your machine either way, so it is a change of licence rather than a migration.

Does the price include HMRC recognition?

Not at any price, not yet. Murgese prepares returns and you submit them. Recognition is being worked towards and the status page sets the position out in full, without a date attached to it.

Get it in writing

Tell us whether you are a firm or a single business, and how many companies you look after, and we will put the terms in an email you can keep.
