Cookies

This site sets one cookie, and only when it needs to. There is no banner because there is nothing to consent to.

What we set

NameWhat it doesHow long
murgese_session Keeps a form submission and its security token together, and keeps an administrator signed in. Set when you open a page that has a form on it, or when you sign in. Reading the rest of the site sets nothing. Until you close the browser

That cookie is strictly necessary for the site to work, which is why the law does not require us to ask before setting it.

One thing kept in your browser

If you choose "I run a practice" or "I keep my own books" on the home page, that choice is kept in your own browser so the site can mark it next time you visit. It is browser storage rather than a cookie, but we treat it under the same rules: it holds nothing but which of the two you picked, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, it is not used to recognise you, and nothing on the site is hidden either way. Both routes stay exactly where they are. Clearing your browsing data removes it.

What we do not set

No analytics. No advertising or retargeting pixels. No social media buttons that load from another company's servers. No fonts, scripts or images fetched from anyone else, which is also why this site loads quickly on a bad connection.

If that ever changes, this page will change first and we will ask for your consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary.

Turning cookies off

You can block cookies in your browser settings. If you block this one, the forms on this site will refuse your submission, because the security check that protects them depends on it.
